Malnutrition Patients in Tarakan Descending

Data Health Office (DHO) Tarakan City shows the number of malnourished children under five in Tarakan in 2010 reached 24 cases. The case of malnourished children under five was reduced compared to the year 2009 to reach 32 cases.

According to the Head of Health Tarakan, Khairul, the causes of malnutrition not only because of the poor families, so the lack of food and beverages. But because of accompanying diseases that led to under five suffer from malnutrition.
"So it was not due because his parents were poor, so it can not provide nutritious food and beverages. But yah it most severely malnourished are always associated with a disease and make the children suffer from malnutrition," he said, which met in his office on Thursday (10 / 2 / 2011).

Khairul mengataan, in addressing malnutrition, it has coordinated with all health centers to provide additional food to severely malnourished. "By providing additional food, was at Tarakan malnutrition can be reduced, and in 2011 it had no reports severely malnourished children under five," he said.
